Liz Wallen

Liz Wallen is a collector, connector, and advocate deeply rooted in the Southern California art scene. She serves on the Collection Committee at Laguna Art Museum and the Board of Governors at Laguna College of Art and Design. With an instinct for spotting emerging talent, Liz moves fluidly between underground subcultures and institutional spaces, championing artists who push boundaries and reframe what art can be.

In 2025, she founded Pelican Art Circle, a growing collective built on real world connection. What began as casual happy hours for artists, patrons, collectors, and the art curious is evolving into a wider platform for future programming, including studio visits, gallery meetups, and informal talks. Pelican is not a club or an institution. It is a conversation and a way for people to find each other in a fragmented landscape. Everyone is welcome, whether you are an artist, collector, patron, or simply curious.

Based in Corona del Mar, Liz frequently travels to Los Angeles, crossing what some still call the Orange Curtain. But she believes the curtain needs to go. Her focus is on dissolving that outdated divide and helping unify the vibrant and often under recognized art communities of Orange County with the broader energy of LA.

Liz is known for her sharp eye, disarming honesty, and ability to build unlikely bridges across generations, backgrounds, and creative disciplines. She is not in it for spectacle or resale value. She is in it for the art and the people who make it.
