Chad Comey
Filmmaker, Artist, Musician
Chad Comey is a filmmaker and pop-punk/alternative rock musician making music under the moniker Last Good Chad. Raised in Venice and the Palisades, he grew up on FM radio and indie romantic-comedy dramas, earned a UCLA history degree summa cum laude at age 18, and fell hard for classical Russian literature. After the collapse of his high school band Zen Dream, he began assembling films the way he once wrote essays, while performing as a session guitarist for tracks from American Idol artists and composing scores for independent films on the festival circuit, before losing his home in a devastating wildfire.
His most athletic feat? Catching a drumstick at Green Day’s American Idiot 20th Anniversary show, only for it to burn in the fire, before Tre Cool handed him a replacement at Fire Aid. New matchsticks — sometimes life writes the punchlines. He insists his greatest skill is simple: being a Chad, not a Karen.
